THE general public are being encouraged to walk, ride their bike or take a bus to the Soapbox Derby on May 21st and enjoy a day of soapbox racing, live music, food and entertainment.
Park and ride buses will run every 30 minutes, for free, from the old cement works, the High Street and Westbury United Football Club. Parking will not be available on site.
Families can also park for free all day and catch the bus from the White Horse Equestrian Centre below the White Horse.
Parking will also be available at Westbury United Football Club and the various public car parks across the town, although these will incur charges. All park and ride buses will be free of charge.
The event organisers, Westbury Town Council, are hoping for good weather to encourage more people to walk or ride their bikes up to the picturesque event site in the beautiful, hidden valley at Long River Farm.
Any members of the public that suffer a disability will also have full access to the soapbox racing and just have to talk to a member of the event staff on the day for more directions and information.
