The Westbury Model Railway Show will mark its 25th anniversary and return to the town following last year’s steaming success.
The show, organised by the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group, will take place on Saturday 1st November from 10am to 4pm at The Paragon Hall in Westbury. Families and railway enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of layouts on display.
As always, the centrepiece will be Keith Wareham’s 0 Gauge Test Track, where members and visitors will be encouraged to showcase a variety of their models. This year, a portable tabletop layout railway has been specially designed so that visitors can control the trains under instruction from members of the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group.
The Clevedon and Portishead Modellers will return, demonstrating their high standard of modelling and layout design with Ellison Yard, a layout of American railways.
Ashley Jones will bring his extensive Scalextric layout to the stage, based on a well-known motor racing circuit, and visitors may be invited to drive the cars.
The show will also feature vintage model railways, small-scale layouts, multiple traders, and a bring-and-buy stall. Refreshments will also be available.
Tickets are £6 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for children, and £12 for families. For more information, please contact the show organiser, Barrie Chappell, on 07870 515 807.
“Please note there is a 50mm step up into the hall,” advised Rod Towler, West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group organiser. One hour of free parking is available in the adjacent car park, but a ticket must be displayed.
