Imperial Charity on Warminster Road is offering a wooden pulpit for free to a good home, after it was donated by a local church that had to close.
The unusual donation is the remaining one of a pair, that the charity will donate to another church or school if they can find a good use for it.
Shop manager Bob Summerfield said, “We have come into possession of this rather magnificent lectern/pulpit – it’s very well made. It came from a local small church that unfortunately had to close.
“If any other church, school or similar establishment can find a good use for it, the charity is prepared to donate it to them and even deliver it, if within a reasonable distance of Westbury.”
