PUPILS at Bratton Primary School kicked off Anti-Bullying Week by taking part in Odd Socks Day, a fun way to celebrate individuality and promote kindness.
Odd Socks Day, the first event of the week, encouraged pupils and staff to express their unique personalities by wearing mismatched socks to school. “The children and staff at Bratton Primary have certainly risen to the challenge, wearing their brightest and most colourful odd socks,” said Mrs Bunce, the school’s publicity officer.
The theme for this year’s Anti-Bullying Week is ‘Choose Respect,’ and during the week, the school is focusing on educating pupils about what bullying is and how to prevent it.
“At Bratton Primary, much of our teaching during Anti-Bullying Week will revolve around the importance of caring friendships and how to support others when they are worried or upset, including how to report concerns,” explained Mrs Bunce. “The week also aligns with the school’s core values of kindness, respect, honesty, and safety.”
Miss Hart, the school’s PSHE lead, added, “We are excited to celebrate our students’ individuality and kindness with a special whole-school assembly. We’ll also be issuing our special sparkle and shine awards.”
