A GROUP of residents have joined forces to promote a plastic-free Westbury – and they will be offering information at the Annual Town Meeting later this month.
The residents have come together in response to a story in White Horse News in February, which featured town councillor Jane Russ who said that she was “horrified” by the lack of proper recycling in the area.
She also said that Westbury should follow in the footsteps of a growing number of towns and go plastic-free
“I was really surprised that I did get a response, not huge but you have to start somewhere,” said Jane.
The group have arranged to put on a display at the Annual Town Meeting in the Laverton on Monday the 23rd April at 7pm.
Jane says, “If you are passionate about cutting back on single-use plastic and would like to sign up for this initiative come along and see what can be done and what we are trying to achieve. Be in at the start and inspire the town.”
