THE Rotarian of the Year award for 2023 has been presented to Alan Bull who has been recognised for his service to the town and local community over the many years.
The award was presented to Alan by the president of the Rotary Club of Westbury, Jon Street, at the annual general meeting recently held at the Full Moon in Rudge.
Jon said, “Alan has been a member of Rotary for many years and has served the club, and the community, well in the past few years so is a worthy recipient of the award.
“He has chosen not to carry on with his Rotary membership and will be greatly missed by Rotary in general. He will have more time to devote to All Saints’ Church and the Blue Circle Bowls Club.”
At the annual meeting Jon also gave an address to the members of the club recounting his past year as president detailing the events, triumphs and sometimes lows of the period. There were also addresses on the night from the treasurer, Mervyn Harris, and the membership officer, David Pike.
