Are you passionate about making a difference in the Westbury community? Do you have some spare time and a desire to expand your social circle while contributing to good causes? If so, the Rotary Club of Westbury needs you!
For 60 years, the Rotary Club has been a cornerstone of charitable work in Westbury, supporting local and international initiatives. And to continue making an impact, they are looking for more community-minded people to join their ranks.
For people curious about the Rotary Club, they have organised an informal information evening on Monday, 27th January. Enjoy light refreshments, coffee or a glass of wine while discovering how you can get involved.
“Being a Rotarian gives you the opportunity to join a worldwide organisation supporting people, projects and charities in your own town, as well as international causes,” said Rotarian Julian Sandoe. “Our activities range from supporting local projects such as food banks, youth clubs, churches and schools to getting involved in international projects such as The Worldwide Polio eradication programme, packing emergency water & survival boxes, or building clinics in the wilds of Nepal.
“We raise monies via street collections and from holding events such as The Imber Ultra Marathon and curry evenings, support local events like the Chilli Festival, Countryville and the Christmas lights switch-on and this year, a small group of us also walked up Snowdon.
“We also hold bi-monthly meetings where speakers are often engaged to discuss interesting topics.
“If you have an interest, you are welcome to join us for a brief information meeting on Monday 27th January at the Laverton any time between 5.30 and 8pm or please call or email Martin Holborow on 07813 811497 or email martinbfh2@gmail.com.”
