UNDETERRED by the wet weather, 125 runners completed the Westbury Lions 10k run recently.

As well as being a success with runners, the event also raised over £1,000 for local causes.
Lion Nigel Coward said, “Despite the weather, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We did have a lot of positive feedback which is always nice to have.
“We were on a par with the numbers we had last year and we were very happy with that – the more the merrier, but given the weather we were quite pleased.
“Thanks must go to Nick Best, and Angie, who both worked really hard to make the event come off, and thank you also to Avon Valley Runners for doing the timekeeping for us.”
Now in its third year, the Westbury Lions 10k was held at White Horse Country Park on Sunday 13th October.
