CHRISTMAS shoppers are being urged to shop local by Westbury’s mayor, cllr Mike Sutton.
Following the reopening of non-essential shops and businesses last week after a second national lockdown, the mayor has highlighted the importance of shopping local to help maintain a “thriving and vibrant community”.
Speaking to White Horse News, cllr Sutton said, “The term non-essential is often used to describe some businesses, but for those running them and those requiring their services or products, it is anything but non-essential.
“They are also vital to a thriving and vibrant community and it is more important than ever that we use local providers and shops as much as we can.
“As we return to some form of normality, I would urge everyone to support local business and shops wherever possible because without them, we will lose a part of our local community and all that goes with it.”
