NEW town councillor, Barbara Swan, has been co-opted in the Westbury North ward.
Following the resignation of Aminiasi Katonivualiku in February this year, a vacancy arose for a new town councillor in the Westbury North Ward. Barbara Swan was co-opted ahead of two other candidates, Gary Chapman and Emma Symonds.
Barbara said, “I wanted to become a councillor because I’ve lived in Westbury all my life and I have years of history and knowledge of Westbury to pass on. I’m a committee member on the Westbury Neighbourhood Plan and believe we need to protect and improve what Westbury has to offer to present and future residents.
“I went to Matravers many years ago and have worked in the town, as well as giving my time to local charities. I’m also a keen photographer and attend the local events we’ve held here in Westbury.
“I hope as a new councillor I can help look after and improve Westbury.”
