WESTBURY Town Crier, Sean Price, successfully completed the mighty challenge of making 12 cries in one day during a 10 hour tour of the town. Sean announced his retirement last month but wanted to go out with a bang whilst raising money for charity.
The tour, which started at the Railway Inn and finished at the Lopes, drew in a large crowd who wanted to support Sean and thank him for all he has done for the community.
Sean said, “We had an amazing time and over 100 people must have turned up at one stage or another. We had approximately 10-20 people in each of the venues and many travelled from venue to venue with us. My wife, Fiona, came to 11 of the 12 venues and our friend Stuart Henderson managed 10 of the 12.
“We stopped at The Horse and Groom for tea and I was so pleased to be joined by my 94-year-old nan for some food.
“We tried marmalade vodka in Suave, donations were very generous in The Angel and Charlie’s Bar had live music, so we were even dancing.
“Big thanks to the mayor, David Bradshaw for meeting us at The Hollies. It was also great to meet the very nice staff at the Wiltshire Air Ambulance shop.”
