Westbury United’s home match on Saturday was dedicated to the memory of Dan Martin, a former coach with Westbury Youth, who died earlier this month.
There was a minute’s silence before United’s game against Portishead which was attended by Dan’s family and friends.
The club said Dan was, “A loyal supporter and a much-loved figure in youth football across the Westbury community. His impact will not be forgotten.”
Westbury Youth paid tribute to Dan saying, “We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our former coaches, Dan Martin.
“Dan sadly passed away last week. Everyone at Westbury Youth FC was shocked to hear the news, and we remain forever grateful for the time he gave as a volunteer coach at the club.

“During his time with us, Dan built fantastic relationships with the boys and played a big part in keeping the team together. He was a remarkable man who was always willing to help wherever he could.
“Dan cared deeply about people, always wanting the best for those around him, and never afraid to speak honestly when something needed to be said.
“Both of Dan’s sons also proudly played for Westbury Youth, which makes his connection to the club even more special.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Dan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
Tributes have also been paid to Dan from amongst the local footballing community.
“One of the absolute best blokes you could of met. Pleasure to of worked with Dan for many years,” said one, with another saying, “Dan was amazing with the lads when he was coaching.”
Other people said, “My Fishing Hero, a gentleman top to bottom, amazing family man, I will remember our fishing trips, our coffee and bacon sandwich stops and I will miss him. RIP big man,” “Top man; what an honour to work with for many years and share the sidelines with at Westbury Youth”; and “a heartwarming, caring, kind and professional gentleman/coach, an inspiring father, husband, coach, sending my heartfelt condolences to Jennie, boys, friends, a huge loss to society and the FA Wiltshire football family.”
