WESTBURY Fieldsports & Phil Stokes Motorcycles will be shutting up shop after 42 years of service to the town, with the owners Phil and Pauline Stokes set to enjoy retirement.
Phil Stokes opened the doors to his motorcycle repair shop back in 1980, where he set about servicing, MOTing and carrying out general repairs on all types of motorcycles in the local area. His wife, Pauline, joined him in the same premises in 2001 by opening up Westbury Fieldsports, and since then the two have become the go-to place to supply the local community with shooting apparel and accessories.
Phil and Pauline’s daughter, Angie said, “We would like to thank everyone who have supported them, those that have given Phil endless hours of laughs, fun, micky taking and at times a little bit of light hearted grief! He really has appreciated you all but is looking forward to the next chapter. Phil is a well-known name in the town, as well as further afield and is sure to be missed.
“On behalf of Phil, Pauline and their daughters me (Angie) and Corinne, thank you to each and every one of you who have walked through the shop doors and supported the businesses over the last 42 years.”
Angie and Corinne say they are very proud of their parents’ businesses and wish them both a long, happy and healthy retirement together.
Both businesses will close on 31st March.
