A WESTBURY junior doctor has just released her first book, ‘The Imposters Wife’ and is hoping this will be the first of many novels to come.
Abigail Shattock started writing a book as a way to distract herself from the stresses of her high-pressure job. She has released a book independently previously, but this will be the first time she has worked with Pegasus publishers
She said, “I am very excited to finally see ‘The Impostor’s Wife’ published. This is my first novel to be published and hopefully not the last! It was written and inspired by my time at medical school.
“I have been living in Westbury for nearly three years and work as an NHS junior doctor locally. It has been a very difficult two years working during the pandemic and writing has been an important tool for me to keep my mind off the difficult and unique situations that we currently deal with in the hospital day-to-day. I am hoping to enter GP training next year.
‘The Impostor’s Wife’ is a psychological thriller and is the story of two unlikely friends; Dr Diane Smith and DI Tobias Mitchell who attempt to crack the case of the supposedly delusional, high-powered lawyer Marie Webber, after she reports the break-in of a stranger, a stranger, who claims to be her husband. Various secrets from Marie’s past come to light, rendering her untrustworthy. Is Marie Webber telling the truth? And if so, who is the man who claims to be her husband?”
The novel is available now for £7.99.
