Westbury business, Oval Peugeot, is sponsoring Trowbridge carnival for the second year.
Westbury resident Nigel Hemmens, vice-chairman of the Trowbridge Carnival committee said, “Oval are supporting us with a very generous donation. Without this support it would be unlikely that the carnival would be able to survive the next couple of years.
“It literally costs thousands of pounds to stage the carnival and takes a year to plan, with lots of red tape and bureaucracy. This is all tackled by a volunteer committee of just eight people.”
The main carnival procession is on Saturday 18th October with approximately 14,000 spectators in attendance. This is only one of many events organised over the year, including a Soap Box Derby, bowls tournament, country fayre, quiz night and other promotions.
Westbury tools, equipment and leisure products hire business, Hire Standards, is supporting the Soap Box Derby. They also help Trowbridge Carnival by lending generators, equipment and ‘man-power’ free of charge.
