Brighterkind’s Westbury Court Care Home in Westbury, has received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
The home in Station Road, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care was praised for its person-centred care and rated ‘Good’ overall and in all key categories inspected; ‘Safe’, ‘Effective’, ‘Responsive’ and ‘Well-led’.
Inspectors spoke with residents’ family members to gain feedback which included appreciation for how the team at the home has reduced social isolation during the pandemic.
“I do genuinely feel that they do their very best for the residents including the activities. Times have been so different for everyone and I feel the staff have given everything they can,” said one family member.
Other family members said, “My Mum is so well looked after; the staff are so caring and kind”, “They encourage residents to join in with activities and socialise as much as possible” and “With Covid and not being able to be there as often or even to touch her, the staff have been her family and we are so grateful.”
The inspection report noted that, “People are supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and the care team support them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
The home’s manager, Jane Jones, who joined Westbury Court at the end of last year said, “We are extremely proud of this achievement which is testament to the entire team’s commitment and dedication. Providing extraordinary care is all about putting our residents’ health and happiness at the heart of everything we do.”
