CELEBRATIONS will be held across the country to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s official 90th birthday and Westbury is no exception.
A whole host of special events are being organised by local groups and organisations to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
There will be street parties, picnics, tea parties, a village fair and of course, Union Jack bunting, Victoria sponge cake and pots of tea in abundance.
Join the rest of the country for what is sure to be the biggest party of the year.
Friends of Victoria Gardens will be holding a public tea party on Saturday 11th June from 2pm to 4pm. Cream teas will be served and music will be provided by music students from Matravers.
Victoria Gardens, near the town’s medieval All Saints Church, was first given to townspeople in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee so it is fitting that their is a celebration to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.
On Sunday 12th June, reserve a chair and join the Leigh Park Community Centre in celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. Everyone is welcome to the family fun day with activities for everyone!
There will be a bouncy castle, dance through the decades, workshops, games, skittles, darts, stalls and plenty more. Bring your own picnic and join in the fun. If it rains, the party will move inside.

Dilton Marsh is also marking the occasion with a community picnic in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church on Sunday June 12th, 1-4pm.
At 2pm there will be a performance of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party by the budding young actors of Dilton Marsh and at 3pm there will be a toast to the Queen with fizzy drinks and cupcakes provided.
Why not get together with friends and family and go dressed in red, white and blue? There will be prizes for the best dressed adult and child.
Westbury Conservative Club is also celebrating with a party on Saturday 11th June from 8pm. Earlier in the day, there will be a children’s party with an entertainer.
