A HOLIDAY park on the outskirts of Westbury is set to undergo a major expansion.
Fairwood Lakes Holiday Park off Fairwood Road is to have 70 new holiday lodges, a new clubhouse with a café, bar, a spa and a new shop. The holiday park announced they had got permission for the plans on New Year’s Day.
The holiday park said on a post on social media, “Delighted that we have finally achieved planning for 72 units at Fairwood. Alongside a new clubhouse, spa and central leisure building this will make Fairwood Lakes one of Wiltshire’s primary holiday parks.
“This will take some time to evolve, and we are looking for development partners to make this a reality.”
In the plans, the holiday park says, “The existing site has been hugely popular with the facilities having been fully let all summer and it is clear that the increased popularity of the ‘staycation’ is here to stay.”
The spa will incorporate a small pool, sauna and steam room with two treatment rooms. The plans also include an alternative design for the clubhouse that will act as the social hub for the site, with enhanced café and bar facilities.
The site was originally established as a campsite and fishing lake by the previous owner in the 1990s.
