THE CEDAR Hotel is getting a new lease of life with new owners, a new look, and a new name.
Rachel Baker and Ashley Hunt have successfully run the Garden House Hotel in the town for the past 10 years and have built a reputation for high quality food and individually designed bedrooms.
They have recently acquired the Cedar Hotel in Westbury which went into receivership late last year.
Ashley said, “It is our intention to restore the hotel to its former glory. Already the restaurant is busy and old customers are returning. Plans are in place to restore the hotel as a venue for local weddings and several large functions have already been booked.
“The name of the hotel will be changed to the Chalford House Hotel to reflect the hamlet of Chalford which lies nearby. The hotel is open to non-residents for breakfast and dinner, and expects to be open for lunch by mid-May. Already work has started on refurbishing the 20 bedrooms and a new bar is to be installed in the next month.
Westbury Rotary meet on a regular basis at the Cedar Hotel and the function room is taking bookings for business meetings and presentations.
The hotel is now open from 6.00pm every evening, with food service starting at 6.30pm.
