Westbury Library has once again had a successful year welcoming everyone to a friendly and warm library with lots of activities and events to bring the community together.
The library has already had over 31,000 visitors this year and held 254 activities. Events have included Knit and Natter, Games Café, Rhyme Times, Tech Made Simple Drop In, Reading Groups, Brick Creators Club and Tea and Chat sessions.
Westbury Library has also been loaning out smart activity watches and blood pressure monitors throughout the year. Thermal imaging cameras are also now available to borrow free of charge if you are a library member. Borrowing a thermal imaging camera will help you to identify areas of heat loss to improve your home’s energy efficiency, reduce household bills and reduce carbon emissions.
There have been lots of lovely rhyme sessions for little ones at Westbury (these take place on Tuesday and Friday mornings) and their favourite rhymes have included I have a Little Turtle and Five Little Peas, particularly the popping bit at the end!
The reading group has continued to meet on the first Thursday of the month between 6pm and 7pm and titles read have included Cuddy by Ben Myers, Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and After the End by Claire Mackintosh which proved particularly popular.
Wiltshire Libraries’ collection of eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines has continued to grow and use has gone up over the year. For the first time, Wi-Fi printing is available and can be sent from your mobile or device and picked up within 48 hours from the library.
All the team at Westbury Library look forward to welcoming you again in 2026.
