IT’S time to get your running shoes on as the annual Westbury Lions 10k run returns this weekend!
This year’s event – sponsored by SPC Rubber Components – will once again be held at the White Horse Country Park and is suitable for beginners and club runners alike.
Westbury Lion Nigel Coward said, “Each year the attendance has been steadily growing and the hope is to break last year’s record of 132 runners.”
The 10k run will start a little earlier this year at 10.30am with registration from 9am. The entry fee is £8 in advance and £10 on the day. Entry forms and the route map can be found on the Westbury Lions website www.westburylions.org.uk There are trophies for both the first male and female and their veteran counterparts and all entrants will receive a medal.
Nigel continued, “Every penny raised will go to the Westbury community to help local people. Unlike some other charities, there are no administration expenses, so all monies go to good causes in and around Westbury and surrounding areas.
“So if you fancy a bit of exercise whilst raising money for your local community, the place to be is the White Horse Country Park on Sunday 11th October. We would like to give a big thank you to both Morrisons and SPC Rubber Components for supporting the event.”
