Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub hours set to change

WILTSHIRE Council will be changing the opening times of the Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub, from Sunday 7 June.

Since it was set up at the end of March, the hub has been open seven days a week to provide assistance to vulnerable people during the COVID-19 situation. However, to ensure the council aligns it’s activities with the Government’s National Shielding Helpline and to reflect a reduction in emails and calls to its hotline, the hub will now operate from 9-6pm Monday to Friday, 10-4pm on Saturday and will be closed on Sunday.

The Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub continues to be available to anyone who is struggling during this difficult time, such as people who are shielding or self-isolating and don’t have a support network around them or know where to get help.

Wiltshire Council’s team can help provide support but also signpost them to where additional help is available in their local area – with hundreds of community groups set-up across the county providing invaluable assistance.

Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet member for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Public Protection said: “The Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub has proved to be a vital tool in helping vulnerable residents throughout this situation, and continues to do so.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to help so many of our residents. This reduction in opening hours is a direct result of a Government request and observing a significant reduction in demand, meaning less people require our assistance at the times impacted by the change, which is really positive.

“However, anyone out there who feels isolated, unable to leave their home to get food or medicine or not sure where to turn, or hub remains open from Monday to Saturday and can provide a friendly voice and reassurance to ensure people get the support they need.”
