A PARENT from Fairfield Farm College successfully completed a golf-a-thon, raising over £1,000 for the colleges’s floodlight appeal.
Dave Stockley, whose son is a student at the college, played 12 hours of golf at the White Horse Country Park earlier this month, raising £1,112 for Fairfield Farm College’s floodlight appeal.
Dave played the ninehole course seven times, 63 holes in total from 7am – 7pm and was cheered on by students from the college as he began his second round.
Dave said, “It was a brilliant day and I’m so pleased with the amount raised. Hopefully the college can organise getting the floodlights they need.
“It was wonderful to have the students come down, especially my son George Webster who was excited to see what was going on. They all arrived in the minibus as I was walking up to begin my second round, so they couldn’t have timed it more perfectly. They cheered as I began and were so happy to be there.
“I was expecting to crash with tiredness the next day, but luckily I felt fine.
“Thank you to all the people who supported me towards raising the £1,112 and to Rob Crook who was up there at 6.30am getting the course ready for me.”
