STUDENTS and staff celebrate a year of success at Fairfield Farm College with the highest number of students attending graduation.
The college reports, “The last few weeks have been extremely busy at Fairfield Farm College, as staff and students finish the academic year with a flurry of activities to celebrate the years achievements. Fairfield, a specialist college for students with special educational needs, has had their largest intake this year, welcoming 85 students.
“Students have been enjoying the last few weeks as the college has hosted an array of special events to mark the ending of the academic year. Highlights include a whole college trip to Longleat followed by the annual summer ball. This tropically themed night was thoroughly enjoyed by the hard-working students, giving them a chance to let their hair down and enjoy some great food and even better dancing!
“The college hosted the annual sports day where all students enjoyed kickboxing, skateboarding, dancing, climbing, archery and a range of other sports. Paralympic tennis star, Louise Hunt, attended and students worked with Louise on a variety of activities. Students also enjoyed the annual reunion barbecue where leavers from years gone by are invited back to tell everyone how well they are doing in the adult community.
“This year’s leavers graduated with a full ceremony on Friday 12th July. A total of 26 students graduated with over 150 guests in attendance. The special guest speaker at the ceremony was Christopher Skelley, a British Paralympic judokawho (visually impaired 100kg category).
“Although the college is finishing up for summer, there is still plenty going on with various holiday clubs, the café, shop, post office and the animal walk, all of which remain open throughout the summer holidays for all to enjoy.”
