STAFF at Gooding Accounts are aiming to raise £10,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance in memory of Lucy Beer, the daughter of colleague Angela Beer, who was killed in a car accident in January.
Sam Gooding, director at Gooding Accounts, is taking on the challenge to run 62 miles in an ultramarathon called ‘Race to the Stones’. Starting in Oxford, Sam will be running back to Avebury stones, along the ridgeway.
Sam was part of the team, ‘The Mighty Titans of Bowerhill’s who ran the 1,000 mile challenge from Land’s End to John O’Groats last year for Wiltshire Mind, raising £20,000, so is no stranger to long distances.
Sam said, “This is my first ever ultramarathon, and probably my last before I move on to whatever next exciting challenge awaits!
“We are dedicating all of our fundraising for 2019 in memory of Lucy and are hoping to raise £10,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance in the process.”
Staff members, Katrina Purell and Ryan Jones both completed a skydive last weekend and Amanda Katsande completed a marathon walk from Devizes to Bath along the canal in early May to contribute to the target of £10,000.
The company has also organised a bingo night on Friday 19th July at The Hunters Moon in Warminster, starting at 7pm. Tickets are £2 with plenty of prizes on offer.
