WESTBURY has raised its highest amount ever for the Poppy Appeal charity – collecting £10,400 during Remembrance last year.
Royal British Legion member and Poppy Appeal co-organiser, Eddie Bridges said, “It’s a very good total. Best we’ve ever had! It continues to go up each year. We thought it would go down this time, after such a successful 100th anniversary year in 2018 – but it didn’t.
“Collections were made during November last year, as well as collections from wreaths purchased by businesses and groups in the town and laid during the Remembrance Service.
“The Westbury branch would like to thank the people of Westbury for their generosity and also to the volunteers who helped us with the collections.”
