IT has been all systems go at Westbury United’s Meadow Lane ground to get ready for when games can resume.
Pictured is Pete Strickland finishing off painting the tea hut ready for its opening by Tammy Newbury – from 8am on May 6th – as Tammy’s Tasty Treats.
Terry Morgan, club volunteer, said, “We also have to thank Terry Gillman of Gillmans Carpets who has very kindly agreed to donate the vinyl flooring and Andy Goodenough who is an ex-Westbury United FC player and a carpet and vinyl flooring expert who has agreed to lay the flooring.”
Also pictured right, are Alex and Kay of Westbury Domestic Solutions who regularly attend to clean the CM Motors clubhouse, toilets and three sets of changing rooms; and (below right) Stuart Fryer, one of the club’s ‘Clean Up Gang’.
Stuart made 4 x 4ft picnic style seats for supporters and customers to use when the club eventually opens. The seats are sponsored by Alex and Kay, Dan of Westbury Building Company, Ashwood Homes, and Brian Gordan of Form Works. More sponsors are being sought.
The club also thanked
• Phil Alford and Dave Medley who moved and recycled a Westbury United FC board from the main Skip It Recycling stand to the frame work that supports the ball netting behind the bottom goal.
• Clean up gang members Geoff Steer and Paul Board repainting the main stand ready for the season to open.
• Clean up gang member Keith Harvey preparing the clubhouse for its repainting and refurbishment.
• CM Motors and Colin Moss who has agreed to sponsor the clubhouse, dug-outs and Steve Wordley of 1st Call Skips, the First Team’s tracksuits.
Terry added, “I have to again thank both Steves of 1st Call Skips who are very kindly supplying us at Westbury United with free skips. But I cannot forget Mark (Trigger) Cleverly also of 1st Call Skips who has been a great help to me personally with organising the skips being emptied.”
