BATH Community Big Band will be performing at a charity concert in Holy Trinity Church, Dilton Marsh on Wednesday 29th June at 8pm.
The church is raising funds for the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal as well as putting aside some money to contribute towards a new projector/ screen. The band’s musical director is composer and professional musician, Ralf Dorrell, who lives in Dilton Marsh.
Organisers say, “The band members, all very talented amateur musicians, perform a wide repertoire of jazz, swing and Latin music written for big bands over the last 90 years. Clearly, there will be something for everyone!
“The Bath Community Big Band is a bigger than usual big band, consisting of more than 20 performers playing trumpets, trombones, and saxophones over a swinging rhythm section.
“The band, which began in 2000, performs locally to help raise money for charity and local good causes. For this event, Holy Trinity hopes to raise money for The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal and also put some money towards a projector/screen for the church for future community use.
“Do come and join us for an entertaining musical evening and support the good causes!”
Tickets can be bought on the door or in advance from Tess/Garth on 01373 822 414. Tickets £8, to include a glass of wine, fruit juice or hot drink in the interval.
