As part of Bratton developing its Neighbourhood Plan the council has asked local landowners to put forward possible sites for development. A call for sites letter has been delivered to every home in the Parish.
Neighbourhood Plans set out planning policies within an area and gives local people a chance to say which areas would be acceptable for development, and which areas should be protected.
Eddie Cole, chair of the group developing the Neighbourhood Plan said, “The call for sites is an invitation to landowners or their agents to make submissions proposing particular areas of their land within the parish for future housing development. The community consultations have shown an interest for some small developments of five to ten houses, with a focus on affordable housing to secure a sustainable future for the village but every site put forward will be assessed for inclusion in the emerging Plan.
“Neighbourhood planning gives our community direct power to develop a shared vision for our village. We are able to choose where we want new homes to be built, and have our say on what those new houses should look like and what infrastructure should be provided.
“We want to hear from everyone who feels they would like to develop land in their ownership. If you want to find out more go to the Bratton Parish website or respond to the letter delivered to your home.”
