BRATTON resident, Sue Kemp, has published her first book of poetry called ‘Stuff the Bustard’ and it is now available to buy.
‘Stuff the Bustard and other poems’ is Sue Kemp’s record in verse of some of the entertaining and varied topics featured on BBC Wiltshire’s Breakfast show over the past couple of years.
Light-hearted and amusing the poems will rekindle memories for radio listeners but stand alone as enjoyable poems in their own right. Sue is known as The Bard of Bratton. On air her verses are often read with lute music. Subjects are diverse; electric minis, fatbergs, cats being castrated, and penguins in care homes, to name a few.
“It seemed the obvious thing to do; put them all together and publish them as a single book” said Sue.
“The cover is based on a painting by Bratton artist Emma Edmondson who works at Pond Croft Studios. It was a tough brief I gave her, a bustard playing a lute strolling down a lane. But she did it!”
Books can be obtained from Hobnob Press directly or ordered through Amazon.
