TWO brothers from Westbury have raised £350 for two charities after bravely completing a water rescue challenge.
Alfie and Charlie Waker jumped out of a boat at Portishead Marina to be rescued by the Newfoundland rescue dogs, all to raise money for Horseworld and The Newfound Friends.
The daredevil duo love horses, ponies, donkeys and dogs, so this particular challenge appealed to them.
Alfie and Charlies’ mum, Hayley Waker said, “The boys had the most wonderful time. On the day, Alfie was really nervous and Charlie was raring to get on with it.
“I don’t think we could have asked for a better day as the sun was shining and apparently the water wasn’t that bad.
“The team from Newfound Friends were amazing, ensuring the boys were happy and reassured throughout their rescues.
“There was lots of support at the marina from family and friends as well as Horseworld staff, which was really lovely.”
Alfie said, “It was an amazing experience and I would love to do it again and again!”
Charlie said, “It was epic and the dogs made me feel really safe and happy.”
