Students at Fairfield Farm College are smiling this week as they return to campus with some new chairs in their auditorium, donated by ethical office furniture clearance specialists, Waste to Wonder.
Waste to Wonder redistribute redundant equipment to good causes around the UK and the world, and decided to give 100 leather stacking chairs to Fairfield Farm College for the new term.
Fairfield Farm College in Westbury is a specialist college for students aged 16-25 years with learning disabilities. The new chairs have replaced very old, worn out chairs that were no longer usable.
Tina Pagett, Fairfield Farm College’s CEO/principal says, “We have been working with Waste to Wonder for many years, and much of the office and classroom furniture has been supplied by them.
“As a charity that works with young people with learning disabilities, it means that we can focus funding on the students, resources, and activities, including additional mini buses to transport them to work experience and off-site activities, rather than spending thousands on costly commercial chairs.
“It makes such a difference and we are grateful to Waste to Wonder and the organisations they work with.”
Alan Cooper runs Waste to Wonder, which links up charities with second life equipment, such as IT or furniture, sourced when its customers, corporate firms, vacate or move offices.
These valuable resources are passed on to charities through Waste to Wonder’s distribution scheme.
