WALKS have become fun rock hunting expeditions for children in Westbury thanks to a local mum with artistic flair.
Sue Plowman has been painting and hiding little rocks for youngsters to find around the town and has been praised by other parents who say it encourages their children to walk without realising it.
Sue was too shy to speak to White Horse News but Christina Phillips, mum to Erin, aged four, and Nyla, aged six, pictured with some of their finds, told us, “Sue is a mum with a lovely artistic talent. She has been painting rocks and hiding them for two years as a hobby.
“They are randomly dropped, often around the urban park, the pond off the Mead and the woods by Leighton Sports Centre and anywhere in between, and on the way to Bitham School. It really encourages many children to go on a walk without realising as we are rock hunting.”
There is also a Facebook page for rock enthusiasts to post their makes and finds, called “Love on the rocks UK”.
