THREE new jobs for young people have been created at Leigh Park Community Centre thanks to a government scheme to cut long term unemployment.
The centre at Leigh Park Way has been awarded three Kickstart grants which has enabled it to offer three placements for eligible applicants.
Centre manager Debbie Cole said, “The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new jobs for 16-to-24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
“We have three placements available: centre assistant, marketing assistant and hospitality assistant.
“Each position is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend/evening work. Full training and support is given to help young people on the scheme get a job in the future.”
The centre is working with Swindon-based recruitment agency Wise Employment who can assist job seekers with things like applications and CV writing.
Anyone interested in applying for the placements can contact Debbie at the centre by telephoning 01373 825774 or emailing office@lpccwestbury.org.uk
