WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance has launched a brand-new challenge event which will see people trekking the highest three peaks of the Yorkshire Dales in the space of 12 hours.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks event takes place on Saturday 8th October, with an overnight stay in Horton-in-Ribblesdale both before and after the trek.
Participants will embark on climbing and descending the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (2,276ft high), Whernside (2,415ft) and Ingleborough (2,372ft).
“You could go solo and join our team, or bring a friend, partner, family member or work colleague,” says the charity.
Signing up for the event costs £200 per person and includes accommodation, guides, food for the expedition and a celebration meal on the evening of the trek.
The charity’s events and partnerships fundraising co-ordinator Beth Knights says, “After so many restrictions due to the pandemic over the past two years, we’re all very much looking forward to embarking on a full events programme in 2022.
“The Yorkshire Three Peaks event is an excellent challenge for anyone looking to test themselves and it will certainly be a memorable trip for everyone who joins us.
“Most importantly, all the money raised from fundraising will go towards our keeping us flying and saving lives.”
The charity will be hosting a virtual information evening with their challenge partners Global Adventure on Tuesday 8th March at 6.30pm on Zoom.
