TWO local residents took to the dancefloor recently, reliving their days as a dancing duo.
Watersmead Residential Home celebrated Dementia Week by giving residents the chance to try something new or relive a moment in time.
One of the residents, Vicky Croker, asked to go to a dance with Dave, her husband of 60 years, and dance like they used to. Vicky and Dave trained at The Elizabeth Shirley School of Dance and won awards.
The manager, Annette Ayles, dementia lead Judy Scull, and activities co-ordinator Carol Putt, took Vicky, her husband and three other residents to The Orders of St John Care Trust, Annual Tea Dance “Tea at the Ritz”. This took place at the Corn Exchange in Devizes on Tuesday 21st May. Vicky and Dave got the chance to dance to a live band. This event was attended by all Orders of St John Care Trust Homes in Wiltshire.
Watersmead will be holding a Coffee Morning and Open Day from 10.00am on Saturday 15th June.
