A WESTBURY family man is revving up for the race of his life as he prepares to take on the Thruxton racetrack in his five tonne truck.
The first weekend in June will see local man Trevor Martin and his truck ‘The Wiltshire Flyer’ take on the track at Thruxton in a bid to move up from his current position of 8th in Division Two.
Describing what to expect from the big event Trevor’s wife Ali Martin said, “Weighing in at up to five tonnes and capable of reaching speeds of up to 100mph, truck racing is not for the faint hearted. But the weekend is guaranteed to provide thrills, spills, sideways action and lots of wheel to wheel action.”
Trevor has been racing trucks since 2009 as part of the British Truck Racing Association. His hobby has taken him to some of the most famous racetracks in the world including Nürburgring in Germany, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
The British Truck Racing event at Thruxton takes place on Saturday 3rd June and Sunday 4th June. More information about the race meeting can be found on the website: https://thruxtonracing.co.uk/racing/trucks
