WESTBURY cat owners can apply for help to have their cat or kitten neutered for free.
Micro-chipping, if desired, and whilst undertaken in conjunction with the neutering operation, will also be available free of charge under this campaign.
The cat neutering campaign, jointly organised and funded by RSPCA Wiltshire Mid Branch and Cats Protection Frome and District Branch, started on World Spay Day last month and will end on 31st May. Both organisations wish to encourage cat and kitten owners to have their pets neutered and micro-chipped.
They say, “Through this campaign we will help those owners who cannot afford to pay for the operation and aftercare themselves by paying the vet costs for them. You do not have to be receiving benefits to apply for help.
“Cats and kittens will be accepted for treatment from Westbury and the surrounding town and villages.
“You can apply until 31st May 2021. If your kittens are not old enough at the time to be neutered, or vets are unable to undertake the operations immediately because of Covid-19 restrictions, the vouchers will remain valid for operations carried out at any time until the end of December 2021.
“We will also consider undertaking the free neutering of any feral cats that can be brought to a vet by members of the public, subject to the ability and willingness of such persons to catch and return the animals and follow the vet’s guidance on aftercare. Please tell us if the application is for feral cats.
