VILLAGE Pump Folk Festival organisers have spoken of their disappointment after nearly £300 of local people’s ticket money was stolen from Charlie’s Bar in the Market Place last week.
A festival volunteer went to collect the money and check on ticket sales, and found that the money had gone.
“The money had apparently been tucked behind the till on the bar,” said festival spokesman Clive Woodland. “There should have been £280 according to the number of tickets sold.
“It’s incredibly disappointing. These were evening tickets that we made available at a reduced price for the people of Westbury, to encourage locals to sample what fans come from all over the country to see.
“With household name acts like The Proclaimers and members of the Specials we thought we’d attract fans who wouldn’t normally go to a folk festival.
“The special offer tickets were going really well and are still available until Tuesday 19th July from Suave on Warminster Road, and the White Horse Country Park.”
The Village Pump Folk Festival is on 22nd – 24th July at the country park.
Weekend, day and evening tickets are available now at www.villagepump.co.uk
