Weekly outdoor yoga sessions will be coming to a Westbury park, giving residents the chance to improve wellbeing, meet others and spend time outdoors.
The free sessions will take place every Sunday morning at Grassacres Park from 9.30am to 10.30am, starting on Sunday 3rd May and running until mid-September.
They are open to all abilities and will be run by Park Yoga, a national charity delivering free outdoor classes in more than 60 towns and cities across England on Sunday mornings. The charity aims to bring communities together in inclusive, relaxed settings where people can take part at their own pace.
Director Cathi Farrer-Mitchell said, “As a charity we want Park Yoga to be as accessible as possible, there’s no need to book and it’s free to attend.
“Last year, 31 per cent of our participants had never done yoga before, so you won’t be alone if you’re new to yoga. You don’t need any specific equipment, just a yoga mat if you have one, but if not, a blanket or towel works perfectly. Come along and give it a go, you won’t regret it!”
The initiative, supported by Westbury Town Council, will see Westbury sessions led by experienced instructor Yara.
In the event of bad weather, participants will be notified of any cancellation at least an hour in advance via the Park Yoga Westbury Facebook page and the Park Yoga website.
Although free to attend, donations to the charity are welcomed. Instructors will have contactless payment machines available each week and online contributions can also be made.
