A BRIDE-to-be from Bratton has taken part in the World Bog Snorkelling Championships as part of her hen party weekend.
Sarah Joyce, who is getting married this month in St James’ Church, Bratton, had no idea she was entering the competition as the whole weekend was organised by her bridesmaids.
The annual event, held in Llanwrtyd Wells, attracts competitors from around the world. It is part of the two-week World Alternative Games which includes events such as worm charming and wife carrying.
Bog snorkelling competitors don a mask, flippers and snorkel to complete two lengths of the 55m (180ft) trench of freezing, murky water.
This was the first hen party to take part in the event which has been held for the past 27 years.
The Bratton hen party entry interested TV reporters who were covering the games and Sarah and her friends were interviewed for appearances on BBC Wales, and TV stations in Germany and France.
