TOTALSTAR radio, the Cheltenham-based station who have taken over 3TR FM, have obtained approval from Ofcom to start broadcasting in the area in June.
The approval means that TotalStar hope to start broadcasting TotalStar Wiltshire on the 8th June. However, at the time of going to print the plans for the station are still under negotiation, with the location of the studio and identity of the presenters yet to be finalised.
3TR FM shut down suddenly on Wednesday 25th March after its former owners, Your Media Communications Group, went into administration. Nine staff, a mixture of permanent and freelance staff, were made redundant and the station has been playing a continuous loop of music ever since.
