Westbury Rotary Club is delighted to welcome two new women to their membership – the first women to join the club for several years.
An induction ceremony was held as part of the club’s meeting on Wednesday 14th April. Westbury Rotary president Jim Heath introduced the new members, Susan Hill-Bird and Jan Green, and presented the women with their badges.
The Rotary Club is keen to bring in new members to help continue the good work they do in the community. Westbury Rotary president Jim Heath said, “We’re looking to attract younger members to strengthen what we’ve already got. Having our two ladies join us is great – it really adds another dimension.”
Susan and Jan are looking forward to getting involved with the club and their activities. “The Rotarians seem like a good friendly bunch of people who have lots to offer the community, and I’d like to be part of that,” said Jan. Susan added, “I’m looking forward to making new friends, particularly as I’m quite new to Wiltshire. I know all about the Rotarians as my father was a lifelong Rotarian – it seems you can meet like-minded gentlemen and ladies, both socially and for the benefit of the community.”
Anyone interested in joining the Rotary is invited to find out more at an informal membership meeting at The Cedar Hotel, Warminster Road, on Wednesday 5th May at 6.30pm.
