Westbury Lion David Firth and his wife Jean recently travelled to Sydney, Australia – and took their White Horse News with them too!
David and Jean Firth were among the thousands of people who attended the 93rd Annual Lions Club International Convention.
The convention is the foremost international event of the year for the Lions, when members and their families from over 100 countries unite for a week of business, fellowship, and fun. Activities at the convention included plenary sessions, motivational guest speakers, workshops, the festive International Parade of Nations, and an international show.
For David, a noteable highlight was listening to guest speaker Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, the pilot who landed the plane in the Hudson River, New York.
David and Jean also made the most of their trip by visiting friends and doing some sightseeing down under – and one of the places they visited was the iconic harbour bridge where they were photographed with the White Horse News.
• If you’re taking a trip away, have your photograph taken holding a copy of the White Horse News and you too could appear in print! Send your photographs to: White Horse News, 31 Market Place, Melksham, Wiltshire. SN12 6ES or email whitehorsenews@ btconnect.com.
We are especially looking for photos in unusual places, near well-known landmarks or in amusing surroundings. Don’t forget to include the name of the people in the photograph and where it was taken, and a daytime telephone number.
