PLANS are afoot to create a charity calendar in Westbury, to raise money to make the wishes of a terminally ill boy come true.
The charity calendar will use local spots for photo shoots and is calling on local people to get involved with the good cause.
The efforts are all in aid of Connor Robinson, aged 12, from Trowbridge, who was diagnosed with skin cancer last year. Donna-Michelle Hall, who was born and bred in Westbury and now runs www.westburytownforums.com, is looking for Westbury people to get involved.
Donna-Michelle said, “The idea’s been put onto the forum and I’ve appealed on Facebook for help so there’s males and females and children as potential models, and several people have suggested certain members of the community! One idea is to have a theme for each month and dress people up accordingly and have location shots. Another idea is to use specific locations in the area like the White Horse.”
The project is now appealing for people and businesses to get involved.
“I think one misconception when I first posted it was that you need to be model material,” Donna-Michelle said. “You don’t need a perfect ideal body or anything like that, it’s about bringing everyone together and contributing in whatever way they can to raise as much for Connor and his mum as we can.”
The project is also appealing to local businesses to offer their help through support such as sponsorship. Already, the project has received £250 from online bridal company Girls of Elegance towards production costs for the calendar, and Banana Blues have pledged £100.
Donna-Michelle and Connor’s mother Jenny both went to Matravers School and after recently reconnecting with Jenny via Facebook, Donna-Michelle heard about Connor’s situation and she and her family were moved to get involved.
