DOCTOR Who fan, Charlie Andrews, was left surprised after a business gave him a bag full of merchandise after he lost his wallet last month.
21-year-old Charlie, who has Down’s syndrome, was walking to Fairfield Farm College café when he misplaced his favourite Doctor Who wallet. As a big fan of the show, Charlie was devastated to lose it.
His mum, Sandra Davies took to local Facebook page ‘Spotted Westbury’ asking if anyone had seen it, for it to be returned.
A local business, Half Moon Bay based in Warminster who sell licensed merchandise, saw the post and tracked down Sandra and Charlie through Fairfield Farm College and offered to replace Charlie’s misplaced wallet.
The company gave Charlie a new Doctor Who wallet as well as a Tardis biscuit tin, a Time Lord photo frame, a Tardis backpack and Doctor Who mug.
Sandra said, “It’s amazing that something so nice came out of Spotted Westbury, a site that is usually quite negative. On the day of the gifts, Charlie’s wallet was actually pushed through the door, but it was completely ruined and the money had been taken.
“A huge thank you to Ria at Half Moon Bay for this wonderful gift to Charlie. He was so upset when he lost his wallet and now he can show all of his friends his new stuff. He absolutely loves Doctor Who.”
Ria Gossage, who works at Half Moon Bay said, “I was at work with a few of my colleagues and we all saw the post on Spotted Westbury around the same time and knew we should try and do something to help. So we spoke to our manager who kindly agreed for us to arrange the Doctor Who merchandise for Charlie. We are so glad Charlie likes the gifts.”
