Matravers School has reported another year of success in the Ten Tors.
“Matravers’ combined cadet force entered their first team in this year’s Ten Tors Challenge event, with the cadets once again proving they’re up to any challenge. The event took place in the Dartmoor National Park with the cadets completing the 35-mile route claiming their bronze medal, which is in fact is about 40 miles as the routes are measured “as the crow flies”. During the challenge and in preparation for the event, the cadets demonstrated a tremendous amount of commitment, determination, resilience, teamwork, leadership and selflessness. During their training they progressed from weekly trips to the White Horse, to weekends away in Dartmoor and mountains of South Wales culminating in their Ten Tors success! Our team was made up of Corporal Campbell, Lance Corporal Smith, Lance Corporal Pilkington, Lance Corporal Glass, Corporal Bradbeer and Lance Corporal Scott.
“Matravers School also successfully had two further teams complete the Jubilee Tors once again.”
