Matravers School Head Boy and Head Girl are Shane Roy and Hannah Ralph.
Introducing themselves, they said, “As proud students of Matravers, we decided to apply for the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl. We successfully underwent a formal interview process, and were instated in the roles. Subsequently, we have had the chance to represent the student body at a number of school events already.”
Shane commented, “My interests include sport of any kind and the sciences, leading me to take Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at A Level. I have applied to study Medicine after my A Level studies, and hope to ultimately become a doctor.
Hannah said, “I study Dance, Drama and English, so my interests lie deeply within the arts at Matravers. I’m studying these subjects with a view to pursuing a Drama and English degree at university, and Matravers has always encouraged me to excel in these areas.”
They both added, “Between us we cover a range of subject areas and interests and therefore different aspects of student life.
“As Year 13 students this is our 7th year at Matravers. Since being here, we have witnessed huge levels of progress and we can only expect this development to continue. We are excited about being part of this change.
“Our aims as senior students are to get people more involved in extra-curricular activities by supporting the wide range of clubs which have been recently established.
“We feel this is one of the most important parts of school life as we have been involved in numerous clubs throughout school and have experienced the benefits of being a part of that section of the school community which interests you. We believe this is a huge contributing factor of our love for Matravers.”
