New benches have been installed across Westbury as part of ongoing improvements to green spaces.
As part of a grant recently received from the Great Western Community Forest (GWCF), which supports the creation and improvement of accessible outdoor spaces, two recycled benches have been installed at Becks Mill by Westbury Town Council. These benches are durable and low-maintenance and provide a spot for people to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Grassacres has also seen two recycled benches added, making use of the existing empty bench locations to improve comfort and accessibility for users of the open space.

At the cemetery, three benches have been fitted, replacing older benches that had reached the end of their life. These new benches provide a safe and peaceful place for remembrance and reflection.
These installations form part of Westbury Town Council’s wider programme to upgrade and enhance the town’s outdoor spaces.
“We are committed to continuing improvements across Westbury’s parks and green areas,” said Deborah Urch, Town Clerk at Westbury Town Council. “These new benches not only provide places to rest, reflect, and enjoy nature, but also support our long-term sustainability goals through the use of recycled materials.”
