COMPANIES are now getting ready to move into the new £50million business park being built in Westbury, which could be big enough to support 1,000 jobs by the time it is completed.
Site developer HPH recently secured planning permission to build facilities for the first four businesses at the new Hawke Ridge Business Park on Hawkeridge Road.
It is hoped the business park – which has space for 500,000 sq. ft of commercial buildings – will bring a big boost to the local economy.
Construction started last year and park owner HPH Ltd, a Bath-based property company, has already invested more than £2million in ground works, including a new roundabout and access roads. The company says the park could one day support 1,000 jobs.
Chris Wordsworth, development director at HPH Ltd, said planning consent for the first four companies signals the start of phase two of the project. “We have been very busy behind the scenes in recent months with many conversations taking place with potential occupiers.
“With its strategic location, ultra-fast broadband, and modern and efficient buildings, Hawke Ridge Business Park is a very desirable prospect for a company looking to improve and future proof its operations.
“This planning consent from Wiltshire Council puts Hawke Ridge Business Park in an even stronger position for attracting high-quality employers.
“With 35 acres, there is a lot of scope for companies looking for flexible premises, and we’re excited to see what our new occupiers will do.”
